Great news announcing the impending release of Robin’s 8th studio album “Sun Behind The Storm” on 6th April 2023.
Available in all good record stores, the cd album contains 8 quality tracks which have already stirred up interest and acclaim from reviewers. The title track was originally released as a single back in 2013. Ten years on, and Robin has found a fitting album to put it on. Alongside a delightful selection of folk songs featuring long time collaborator Pete Harvey of Modern Studies on cello.
Also featuring on one song, Sweet Sturnidae is our very own Graham Smith on fiddle. Obviously Graham’s playing was an inspiration to Robin as he grew up around his Dad’s music. The song is about starling murmurations and Robin immediately thought og Graham’s impressionistic style to convey the sound of birds taking flight.
Ralph McTell and Ricky Ross are both huge fans of Robin’s music. If you want to hear the album live on the day of release, then get a ticket for the launch gig at The Glad Cafe, Glasgow. Tickets are available from www.thegladcafe.co.uk There is a link on the gig diary page.
